Summary: Smart Antenna System Simulation Package Based On Various Spatial And Temporal Adaptation Algorithms
MATLAB Release: R14
Description: Smart Antenna System Is An Antenna Array Transmitting Or Receiving Signals Processed Using An Adaptation Algorithm ( Spatial Temporal Algorithm ) In Order To Exploit The Spatial Position Of The Mobile Radio Channel.
Base Station Antennas Have Up Till Now Been Omnidirectional Or Sectored. This Can Be Regarded As A Waste Of Power As Most Of It Will Be Radiated In Other Directions Than Towards The User. In Addition, The Power Radiated In Other Directions Will Be Experienced As Interference By Other Users. The Idea Of Smart Antennas Is To Use Base Station Antenna Patterns That Are Not Fixed, But Adapt To The Current Radio Conditions. Smart Antennas Will Lead To A Much More Efficient Use Of The Power And Spectrum.
This Smart Antenna System Simulation Package Includes Three Matlab Codes:
TSmart > Temporal Reference Beamformer Algorithm ( Wiener Hopf Solution )
MSmart > Spatial Reference Beamformer Algorithm ( MUSIC And Null Steering Algorithms )
ESmart > Spatial Reference Beamformer Algorithm ( ESPRIT And Null Steering Algorithms )
